Hi friends,
Today I’ve received my custom designed (OK, almost custom designed) lens test chart.
While trying to make by blog more interesting for you, I have some ideas for making lens reviews also. To make it more “high level” I need such lens chart.
To make this lens chart I’ve used: ISO 12233 Resolution Chart (as the base and some other parts), Amateur Photographer colour card and one of the stars and Star Chart and Gradient from Beale Corner.
Though ISO 12233 is considered as outdated and unsuitable for modern digital cameras, I’ve decided to use it background with several original details (with additional tweaks).
I do not claim to be some sort of “lab&pro level” lens reviewer, but at least it will be possible to evaluate general performance of lenses. Additionally I’ll try to include some real life tests for lens reviews, because in-house and real life tests are different in most cases. For example – wide-angle lens distortion – it will be present while shooting the chart, but it will probably not while shooting landscapes outdoors.
So, stay tuned for future lens reviews. Will do my best!
